Not many people think about a solar battery when they are considering adding a system to their homes. It is the solar battery that stores all of the energy from the sun for you to use at your convenience.
Back in the 1970s when solar batteries were first introduced into the marketplace, they were extremely expensive and the majority of consumers could not afford them. If you remember back, there were specials on television that told us about these new solar batteries and showcased them in newly built expensive homes.
As with any new technology the cost for a solar battery has dropped substantially in the last 30 years. It is now much easier and very practical for the average consumer to begin using solar power and batteries to heat their home, cook their food, and keep refrigerated food and drinks cold. The solar batteries and panels can even be used in systems to provide economical heat for swimming pools, spas and hot tubs.
When you think about solar energy and batteries it is possible that you are not using any. But, you might want to think about this again. All of these are operated by solar batteries and you probably never even thought about that. You have just become accustomed to these and other items 'just working' because they are supposed to work. You did not think about the fact that they were being operated by a solar battery. Just like using electricity, we will eventually not think about the solar battery-we will just use it and enjoy the savings it can provide to us and our environment.
